{Other NOTES from the DUGOUT}
    Math Materials: Classroom teachers, please stop by Smith/Cochrane's room and check out some of the top 4 math materials before Feb. 12th so you are familiar with them.

    MCOMP (February):  Don't forget to give your students the monthly math probe and turn in your scores with student list/probes by the end of February.

    Star News Subscription:  We pay for a newspaper which gives us online access as well.  You are all welcome to use our login/password to view the paper online if interested.  (brmes / eagles)

    SBAC Block/Interim Assessment:  I'm struggling to get the computers set up but I will keep working on it and let teachers in grades 3-5 know as soon as I can have the machines ready.

    Geography Bee Champion:  Congratulations to Sofia Monahan who is our 2016 Geography Bee champ this year!

    Winter Carnival: "It takes a Village (of Snow People)":  Much appreciation to everyone who participated and re-built after our snowmen homicide incident (and video proof of an out of town 7th grade basketball team who caused the catastrophe).  In the end, they look so cute, very kid friendly, and so much pride from our students who made them.  My favorite student comment, "I can't believe people are going to drive by to see our art"!

    FUNds for Franklin:  Thank you for supporting one of our own students/family ~ we will present a check for $823.70 to the Thompson Family!

    PBIS Videos:  Deadline to get them to Val is Thursday, Feb. 11.  {K & 4th - Lunchroom; 5th & 2nd - Restrooms; 1st & 3rd - Playground;  All Others Interested/Willing - Hallway Transitions & Dismissal}.  Lots of ideas on You Tube under 'PBIS'.  I heard the lunchroom one has been started! Can't wait to see them!

    Student Passes:  I need staff help to ask kids in the hallways to see their pass, especially at lunch time.  Students are sneaking in/out of the lunchroom/recess and sneak to rooms.  They should not be doing that unless they have a pass to show they have permission.  I will remind students about this next week.

    Free Snacks:  We have been running out of snacks and think many kids who have snacks at school are getting extras from the office too.  We are going to provide each classroom a baggie full and see if it helps each teacher to keep them in your room and use them for kids who don't have a snack.  Any other ideas are welcome.  We get new snacks on Tuesdays each week and lately they are gone by Thursday.

    SBAC Schedule DRAFT 1 (Grades 3-5) will be in your boxes soon to review and edit.  Also please let me know if I've missed anyone for testing accommodations on the SBAC (that list will be in your mailbox soon too).
