MDEF Grant Winners:  Congratulations to George Pool with the After School Club, Richard with the new Strings/Violin Club, Tricia Jackson with Espanol Rapido, and Brandi, Lindsey/Holly, and Honey/Abby for getting a grant and being honored at a reception. Much appreciation to their hard work for all of our kids!

Cleaning Update/Junk Room: Please go by the 'empty room' by the end of the day Thursday and take anything that is of interest to you before we box up/donate to Heartland High School's garage sale and David's 'buy back' guy.  Next week, any help will be greatly appreciated to finish getting that room cleaned out.  The children's 'free books' will still be in the library for kids to take home via Evonne's library class times.

Custodial Adjustment for the Long Weekend:  We will not have the normal night guys (Chris & Dan) Thursday, May 26th due to a staff meeting they are having.  They will be in later this night or throughout the weekend to vacuum and finish rooms.  Just a heads up.

      Staff/Team Feedback/Follow Up for 16-17

      • Class Lists: The lists will be re-circulating soon for teachers to relook at any notes folks made on them.  Watch for these again next week.
      • Protected Book Lists:  If your team made any edits/notes, return those to me before June 8.
      • Field Trip Ideas:  Turn in your ideas thus far before June 8, so a list is prepared for you and new teams in the fall
      • Back to School Dates:  Thanks for the feedback.  August 22 Work Day - adjust contract hours to include 'Meet and Greet' students from 4:00-5:30 (Class lists posted at 4:00 and students invited to bring in supplies and meet teachers).  We will determine when teacher lists are ready for your viewing and an Open House later.
      • Specials Schedule 16-17: Thank you for voting. It is DONE and here!
      • Intervention/Group Schedule 16-17: Our data tells us we must try to do for math what we do for reading.  I have drafted a plan that will allow for math groups and reading groups next year and am working on shifting staff to fit the needs of our students.  If you haven't stopped by to see/hear about what it's looking like, come on in.  I think we're really going to be able to make this happen for kids!  I will get a copy out soon.

One 'Student Piece of Work':  I got clarification on what to send to the High School to give students when they graduate. They request ONE piece of student work to represent this school year.  You need to turn those into me.  The work must include the students first name, last name and school year or date.  Please bring to me by Check Out.  They asked for ONE piece of paper per student.

Community Partners:  Thanks to everyone who put the name(s) of people or businesses that provided lessons for our kids on the shared doc.  Jodi made a certificate of appreciation to each 'partner' and mailed them. Hoping it expresses 'thanks'.

Volunteer Cards:  If you had a volunteer log 10 hours or more, you will get a card to add a note/sign it and then send it home with the student by year end.  I also will recognize the top 10 volunteers for the building (by hours) at our end of the year assembly.

PLMS Student Aide:  Anyone interested in being considered for a student aide for a period next year?  It would be the same time daily, depending on their schedule. I need to know by June 1st if you're interested.

Certified Evaluation Feedback Needed:  The district office is collecting feedback on a part of our evaluation tool.  I will be putting a sheet of paper in your mailbox for you to write your idea(s) to then share with the district.  Thank you in advance for filling this out.
