{OTHER NOTES from the DUGOUT}
TIDE Data from the Spring SBAC is back up. If you are a teacher of grades 3-5; please make time to look at your data. I will be emailing an excel sheet with scores for your new class (scores from Spring) to 4th and 5th grade teachers.
Teacher Web Page: It is a district expectation that each classroom have a webpage. It must be updated with basic information for THIS YEAR that can stay for the year (or of course you can update it weekly if you wish).
Committees: Please submit your top 2 'interests' with a sentence or two. I am hoping to finalize committee assignments by next week.
IRI Parent Letters (K-3 teachers) will be put in your mailboxes to send home for parents whenever you can. Thank you Nancy and Katie for doing this.
Lunch Count in Powerschool: We will soon be helping Shanna out with the daily 'hot' lunch count by entering it into Powerschool every morning when you do attendance. As soon as it's ready, I'll let you know.
Reading Group Notes in Review:
- Andy Cochrane is excited to be a part of some morning 'advanced' student intervention. Please share your ideas and learning targets with him anytime.
- No Reading Groups on Fridays
- No Reading Intervention on Fridays
- Reading Team is working up a plan to do Progress Monitoring of "Tier 2" students on Fridays instead of doing that on Thursdays - for sure with Reading and maybe with Math for specific 'at risk' students
- Math - MCOMP and MCAP scores should be out soon. Check AIMSweb.
- Every week the RTI Team will meet 9:00-9:30 on Fridays. The individual grade level teacher for a specific student will join the team from 9:30-10:00 (with rotating para). This means, each team will participate in RTI for your 'at risk' students every 6 weeks. Calendar times will be sent out and it will always be in the weekly newsletter/blog.
Check your calendar for you assigned time. Most of these start next week. They are scheduled for YOU. I will pop in and see if you have questions/things I can help with.
Heartland Hunger / Food Bank started to provide us a weekly box of fresh produce for kids who need a snack during the day. Please help provide an item to KIDS who need it.
Box Tops Challenge for the Month: Can we reach 3500 by September 30th?
Danielson Class: I clarified with David Pickard on the expectation for this course for certified staff. It is NOT a requirement for recertification. It is a district expectation for all certified staff to attend this class or another Danielson class. No timeline has been given yet as to how long you have to participate.
Wonders' Vocabulary Cards 3rd grade: Ryan's Wonders' collection is missing a set of vocabulary cards. They were here the last time we had three 3rd grades. Can you all check for them and let me know if they are found?
Fire Drill Review: Thank you for the great fire drill practice today. Our new assignments for Emergency Response Teams will be in your mailbox. Please add it to your orange bag.

- Back to School Night: Wow, wow, wow - what an amazing event. To Shanna, Ted, the PTA Officers (Erin especially), THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! Your efforts until the end were so appreciated! To all the staff who pitched in for shifts and simply went above and beyond were amazing to me. I heard nothing but rave reviews! Please, thank the PTA and pat yourself on the back for a great service project to our community! I am in awe!
- Crystal for her amazing leadership to lead our data meetings! (She really is a natural leader and a data expert)!
- Cynthia, Sara, Crystal for their patience as I am muddling through the RTI process - we have some great first steps in place.
- Lewann for perseverance as she continues to provide us medical information/alerts on kids we must know about at all times.
- Honey & Abby for pulling together all their data to help select Kinder kids for intervention. Your efforts are much appreciated.
